Now that the 2016 US Youth Soccer Olympic Developmental Program Girls Thanksgiving Interregional rosters have been announced, it’s safe to say your Orlando City Lions will be well represented. Following a week-long camp in Alabama filled with the very best talent the South Eastern region has to offer, four OC ECNL members earned themselves a spot on the roster. Congratulations to Carolyne Davidson class of 2017, Jadyn Mathews class of 2018, Hannah Telleysh class of 2018 and Taylor Fox class of 2020, for being selected to represent the purple and gold in Boca Raton.
Davidson and Telleysh plan on expanding their already impressive resumes, both of which include offers from Division 1 universities. Nearing the end of her high school career, number seven Davidson plans on locking down the midfield for the tigers next season, as she has already committed to Princeton University. Number 77 Telleysh, however will be kicking it at Lake Nona high school for one more season before she plans to head off to the University Of South Florida, where she has also committed.
Number 24 Mathews holds it down in the middle not only for the OC ECNL team, but also for Dwyer high school where she plans to graduate from in 2018. With the elite skill set and experience Mathews has to offer, she should prove to be a great addition to the roster at the ODP level.
The youngest of the 4 girls to be selected, Fox will have the very important job of defending the net against some of the best talent US girls soccer has to offer. The freshman goal keeper for Titusville high school plays well beyond her years, which should serve her well in transitioning to the elite level of play she will be facing at the ODP level.
Although these girls come from different age groups, high schools, and positions on the field, they all have something in common. Each of these girls have worked hard enough to be the recognized as the very best young talent for their respective positions and each of them have the rare opportunity to represent Orlando city women while competing against the very best young women in the country. Lion’s fans wish these four young ladies good luck and look forward to maybe one day seeing them on an Olympic pitch in the future.
