The Orlando City Development Academy U-17/18s picked up their 22nd win of the season Saturday riding goals from Joe Gallardo, Raul Aguilera, Juan Hernandez and David Loera.
“I’m proud of the boys,” Academy Director and U-17/18s head coach David Longwell said. “They played excellent soccer against a very good IMG team.”
Gallardo curled a gorgeous free kick in the 19th minute and Aguilera and Hernandez followed with two goals one minute apart. Loera capped it off in the 75th minute.
“I want to see more of this from the boys as we close out the regular season and go into the playoffs,” Longwell said. “I want the same energy and intensity and focus. Excellent performance.”
The U-17/18s are currently No. 3 in the country and have two matches remaining.
The U-15/16s, meanwhile, scored three goals in the first 30 minutes and two more in the first 15 of the second half to earn a 5-0 victory over IMG Academy.
