Eastern Conference playoff race is coming down to the wire
This past weekend was very strong for the Eastern Conference teams fighting for a playoff spot. Orlando City, Montreal, Philadelphia and New York City all secured wins to keep pace in the playoff hunt. As it currently stands, Montreal sits in 6th place with 36 points while Orlando City has 35 points. New York City and Philadelphia sit in 8th and 9th place with 34 and 33 points, respectively.

Nine teams are in reach of Supporters’ Shield victory
The Supporters’ Shield race is just heating up as ten teams are fighting for the coveted trophy and a guaranteed spot in next year’s CONCACAF Champions League. Vancouver currently sits in first place with 48 points, but to show you just how tight it is, 9th place Sporting Kansas City is still in the hunt with 44 points. Sitting in between (in order from 2nd to 8th) is RBNY, FC Dallas, LA Galaxy, Crew SC, New England, Seattle, and D.C. United.

Kaká is expected to play Friday night against the New York Red Bulls
Orlando City Head Coach Adrian Heath told the Orlando Sentinel that Kaká will be available for selection Friday Night against the Red Bulls. The Brazilian legend’s return is coming at a great time as the Lions look to extend their win streak to three games. Kaká missed the previous two games with a thigh injury.

MLS Supporters break MLS record of sellouts in a season
This past weekend, MLS had their record 137th sellout this season. The previous record for sellouts in a season was 133. This record shows the sport’s continued growth, specifically MLS, in the United States.
