Nothing seemed to be going their way. Down two at home with just fifteen minutes and change to play, Cyle Larin broke through, putting Orlando within striking distance — but they still needed one more.
It came in the 90th minute with the Lions pressuring the Revs back line.
“I think Rafa whipped the first ball in and it came up to me and I just put it in the area and Aurelien did the rest and won the header,” said Boden after the game.
The 6’2” Frenchman used all his height, and his clean shaven head, to direct Boden’s loft off the crossbar and in.
“I think one of my best characteristics is heading the ball, defensively and offensively. The last games I could have scored a lot of goals and I didn’t and today I finally scored a goal, I hope I’m going to keep scoring,” said Collin.
“It was a perfect ball. I think Luke did an amazing job. It was very high, it was a slow ball so easy for me to really get in it so that’s why I didn’t miss it. It’s easier to score a goal when a cross is slow like that than when the ball is very fast and sliding on my bald head,” said Collin with a chuckle.
It was 5th time in 6 home games that the game has been decided in the 90th minute or stoppage time, and the second in consecutive games. Attacking the south end, with its fervent fans, surely helps.
