Orlando City Youth Soccer’s (OCYS) Elite Club’s National League (ECNL) teams are set to take on the U.S. U14 Girls’ National Team in two friendly matches at Seminole Soccer Complex (SSC) on Tuesday, August 26. The opening match is set to kick-off at 5:30 p.m. ET, with the final game of the evening beginning directly afterward at 7 p.m. ET.
The nation’s top 36 U14 players arrive on Saturday, August 23 for the USGNT’s second training camp of the year, providing the local soccer community with an opportunity to watch potential U.S. Women’s National Team players in action up close.
“We’re pleased to have the national team as our guests for a week,” said OCYS Executive Director Stephen Rammel. “As a scout for the younger women’s national teams, it has been a great opportunity to work with April and the federation staff on the present and future of women’s soccer at the highest level.”
“This is a fantastic chance for a lot of our young players to compete against some of the top players in the country,” Rammel continued. “It gives them an opportunity to see what that high level of play is like, and what it takes to get there.
The USGNT’s visit adds to the list of premier teams who have trained at Seminole Soccer Complex over the past two years. The official training ground of Orlando City SC and OCYS has played host to English Premier League side Stoke City, Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs D.C. United and Montreal Impact and Brazilian powerhouse Fluminense F.C.
