Five Orlando City SC players from the Club’s Pre Developmental Academy and ECNL program received invitations to US Club Soccer’s exclusive ID2 training camp in New Jersey, competing with over 100 players from 63 different clubs from across the United States on Sept. 24 – Sept. 27.
The select players that made the trip to New Jersey were: Charles Ahl (U13 Pre-DA), Jair Hernandez (U13 Pre-DA), Omar Wahba (U13 Pre-DA), Karina Goff (U14 ECNL) and Isabelle Bernier (U14 ECNL).
The players participated in several training sessions and games over the weekend, as well as off-the-field presentations discussing tactical or developmental themes. Throughout the camp, emphasis was placed on teaching players the mentality and behaviors necessary for long-term success.
The camp also featured some of the best youth coaches in the country, including U.S. Soccer scouts Mark Carr and Luis Mendoza, who examined players for potential invitations to youth national team programming.
The fourth and final camp of the cycle will be held Dec. 10-13 in Casa Grande, Arizona.
