The trophy has been lifted, the stadium banner has been raised and, now, the rings have been handed out.
Today, tomorrow, always -- 2022 U.S. Open Cup champions.
In one of the final -- and arguably the sweetest -- group celebrations of the club's run to its first MLS-era trophy, Orlando City's accomplishment is officially sealed in gold as the team received its championship bands in a private ceremony Monday at Exploria Stadium.
Together, Orlando won six matches -- all at home -- in its dramatic run to the Open Cup crown last fall, culminating with a final victory over USL side Sacramento Republic FC on Sept. 7 in front of a sold-out Fortress crowd.
The ring has several unique features, including the player's name and number, a nod to "The Wall" supporters section and 118 stones surrounding Orlando City’s iconic gold lion mane and placed on top of purple amethyst stones, with the Open Cup Champions wordmark in yellow gold framing the edges.
Here are a collection of must-see photos from the ceremony from team photographer Mark Thor:
