With eight goals in 13 games played this season, Hadji Barry has been tearing it up with Orlando City B in the USL. Barry was named USL player of the week on Tuesday, for his three goals in two games last week, scoring twice against Ottawa Fury FC and burying a penalty against first place Charlotte Independence on Saturday.
The forward, on loan from Orlando City, has scored five of his eight goals during OCB’s 10 game unbeaten run, which has gone back to June 23.
“I just feel good getting out there and scoring goals,” Barry said of his run of form, “Credit goes to my team. Without them I wouldn’t be able to be on this run that I am, because they’re the ones feeding me the ball and i’m just finishing the puzzle.”
OCB currently sit in 7th place in the Eastern Conference standings with eight games remaining on the schedule. The momentum the team has going forward into their playoff push, with Barry scoring goals, can be huge to bolster their offensive capabilities.
With all the goals scored for Barry, he believes in the patient approach to the rest of the season, just taking each game as they come.
“Personally, I just think we need to take one game at a time and try to get as many points as we can throughout these remaining games.”
