(April 9, 2026) ā TEG Sport andĀ The Football Association todayĀ announced thatĀ Inter&CoĀ Stadium will hostĀ the England men's national teamĀ for an international friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 10 (4 p.m. ET), as part of the Three Lionsā preparations forĀ the FIFA World CupĀ 2026ā¢.āÆ
The match will mark a rare appearance for England on U.S. soil andĀ providesĀ fans an opportunity to see one of international footballās most storied national teams compete in Central Florida ahead of the worldās biggest sporting event. The June 10 friendly will mark the first time the England menās national team has played a match atĀ Inter&CoĀ Stadium. It will also be among the first occasions the Three Lions have competed on U.S. soil in more thanĀ 20 years, underscoring the significance of the match as anticipation builds toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be coāhosted across the United States,Ā CanadaĀ and Mexico. Drawn into Group L, England will face Croatia,Ā GhanaĀ and Panama during the group stage of the tournament.
England and Costa Rica have only faced each other twice in their history. The teams first met in the group stage of the FIFA World CupĀ 2014ā¢Ā in Brazil, playing to a 0-0 draw. Four years later, England hosted the Concacaf side in a preātournament friendly ahead of the FIFA World CupĀ 2018ā¢Ā in Russia, earning a 2ā0 victory at Leeds Unitedās Elland Road.
