Key Transactions

While the Red Stars have not made any transactions since their last matchup with the Pride, their lineup is expected to be at full strength for Wednesday’s match with all of their U.S. WNT players having returned to the team ahead of last weekend’s match against the Houston Dash. 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher, Morgan Brian and Tierna Davidson are all expected to feature for the Red Stars on Wednesday.

Recent Form

After dropping three-consecutive results to end the month of August, the Red Stars earned a 3-0 victory over the Houston Dash this past Sunday in Bridgeview. Chicago now sits at third in the league standings with 32 points and four games remaining in its regular-season campaign.

Who’s Hot

Sam Kerr found the back of the net twice for the Red Stars on Sunday against the Dash, extending her league-lead in goals this season with her 14th and 15th finishes of the year. Kerr sits atop the league by six goals, with Portland’s Christine Sinclair sitting at second in NWSL with nine finishes this season.

Head-to-Head

Following their 2-1 victory at Chicago on August 21, the Pride now hold a 3-6-1 record over the Red Stars in Club history, with each of their three victories coming in their last three visits to SeatGeek Stadium. The road side has earned a victory in the last five meetings between the two clubs dating back to May 2, 2018 with the Pride looking to end that streak at home on Wednesday.

Rasmussen College Fun Fact

Wednesday’s match will be nationally broadcast on ESPNews as a part of the NWSL’s agreement to televise 14 league matches across ESPN platforms this season. The midweek contest will mark the second time the Pride have been featured on ESPNews this season and the first at Exploria Stadium. The Pride’s previous nationally televised match came on Sunday, July 14 against the Portland Thorns at Providence Park.
