Know Your Opponent: Houston Dash

Key Transactions

Houston have recently acquired defender Ally Haran off waivers since their last meeting with the Pride. Haran spent the beginning of the season with the North Carolina Courage before being waived on July 18. She began her professional career in 2018, drafted No. 25 overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by the then-Seattle Reign.

Recent Form

The Dash have earned victories in two of their last four matches, holding a 2-2-0 record in their previous four contests. Houston have recorded wins over the Washington Spirit and Sky Blue FC in that stretch, while falling to the Chicago Red Stars and Portland Thorns.

Who’s Hot

Rachel Daly leads the Dash with four goals this season, having scored the last goal for the Dash against Sky Blue on July 28. Daly is followed by Kristie Mewis and Sofia Huerta, each with three goals in 2019. Goalkeeper Jane Campbell sits at fourth in NWSL with 45 saves this season.

Head-to-Head

The Pride hold a 5-5-1 record against the Dash in their history, with the lone draw coming in their last meeting on June 15. The Club’s five wins against the Dash are the most against a single opponent in its history. However, the Pride’s last victory over Houston came on April 27 of last season with a 1-0 win at then-named Orlando City Stadium. Since then, Houston have won three of the last four meetings between the two sides.

Rasmussen College Fun Fact

With an appearance on Saturday, Orlando Pride captain Ashlyn Harris will register her 100th NWSL regular-season cap. Of those 100 appearances in goal, 54 will have come as a member of the Pride, having joined the Club in its inception in 2016. Her 46 other league caps came as a member of the Washington Spirit from 2013-15.
