Recent Form

NJ/NY Gotham has had a tough run of form as they have lost five straight games and hold a 4-10-0 record on the season. The team has only won one home game this year and that came back on June 4 in a 1-0 victory over the Washington Spirit. Gotham is coming off a 2-1 defeat on Wednesday night to the Houston Dash. The match saw Gotham have to play with 10 players after forward Midge Purce received a red card and midfielder McCall Zerboni score a consultation goal in the 80th minute.

Who’s Hot

Midfielder McCall Zerboni became just the second player in NWSL history to surpass 15,000 minutes played during the most recent match against the Dash. She capped off the historic night when USWNT mainstay Kristie Mewis sent a set piece into the box which found Zerboni who placed the ball with her left foot into the back of the net. It was her second goal of the regular season with her first coming in the season opener against the Pride at Exploria Stadium back on May 1.

Head-to-Head

The two sides have seen one another three times this season across all competitions, with a 2-0-1 record in Gotham’s favor. They battled twice in the NWSL Challenge Cup and opened up the regular season against one another at Exploria Stadium. Gotham took the victory on the season opener, scoring three first half goals on their way to a 3-0 victory.
