Key Departures
In terms of departures, Sky Blue FC gets the award for the biggest departure of the offseason. Sam Kerr. Yes, the 2017 golden boot and MVP winning Sam Kerr. It’s not often you trade away the league’s top player who is 24 but Sky Blue did. On top of that, Sky Blue also parted ways with Nikki Stanton, Kelley O’Hara, and Taylor Lytle.
Key Additions
Out went one star, in came another. Carli Lloyd. We all know what the USWNT veteran brings to the field. Lloyd has played 720 minutes in eight appearances for Sky Blue and has tallied one goal and one assist. Other additions include Janine Beckie, Shea Groom, and Christina Gibbons.
Team Form
Well, in terms of team form there’s not a lot going right for Sky Blue. The club has two points from ten matches. That means they have yet to win a single game.
