MLS Cup Playoffs Take a Week Break Before First Round of Conference Finals

Conf Finals

The road to the MLS Cup is long, but the pool has been narrowed down to four teams. Two from the East, and two from the West: both with everything to play for. Before the face off in the MLS Cup, they will have to face each other. The first two matches will kick off on Tuesday, November 22nd.

The first match of the day will be the Montreal Impact vs. Toronto FC. The Canadian showdown is a dream come true for many MLS fans, as one of the most heated rivalries will now face off for their shot at the MLS Cup. Toronto comes in ranked higher, but both teams have taken down stronger opponents. Montreal will host the first leg of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The second match of the day will be the Seattle Sounders vs. the Colorado Rapids. The Rapids went from being one of the worst team’s in the league last year to being one of the best. The Sounders, who have made regular appearances in the MLS Playoffs, barely made it in this season. Now, one of these teams is just two games away from the MLS Cup. Seattle has a strong offense, but Colorado has one of the best defenses in the league. Seattle will host the first leg of the Western Conference Finals.

These matches represent the first of two, with each team getting a chance to host. The second round of matches will be played on Sunday, November 27th. Montreal vs. Toronto will be aired on ESPN, whereas Seattle vs. Colorado will be on FS1.
