ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2023) – Orlando City B’s Jack Lynn was named to MLS NEXT Pro’s Best XI for the 2023 season, it was announced today. The forward was awarded the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot earlier this week, along with NYCFC II’s MD Myers and Colorado Rapids 2’s Rémi Cabral, following a 19-goal regular-season campaign.
Lynn has been a key figure for Orlando City B (13-10-5, 46 points) throughout the 2023 season, leading the charge for the Lions to clinch their first MLS NEXT Pro playoff berth, finishing in the No. 5 seed. Lynn surpassed his scoring mark from the 2022 season, in which he finished third in the Golden Boot standings with 15 goals.
Lynn has scored 34 total goals since the start of the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season in 2022, making him the League’s all-time leading scorer.
All awards were voted on by the Head Coaches and Chief Soccer Officers at MLS NEXT Pro Clubs, as well as League broadcast and content teams.
No. 5 Orlando City B will face No. 3 Columbus Crew 2 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs this Sunday, Oct. 1, at Historic Crew Stadium on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Kickoff for the match between the Lions and Crew is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
