MELBOURNE, Fla. (May 20, 2016) – After a two-week break since their match, Orlando City B (2-5-2, 8 points) returns to action on Sunday, May 22, to host the defending United Soccer League champion Rochester Rhinos (4-1-2, 14 points) at Titan Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
“It’s obviously a game we’re looking forward to. We’ve had two weeks now with no game, but I think it’s been a positive for everybody with the break, it’s given everybody a chance to reenergize themselves, get some rest,” OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis said. “The training intensity this week’s been fantastic. The boys have looked really sharp so it’s a game we’re really looking forward to.“
This is the first meeting of the season between these teams. It is also the fourth of six consecutive home games and the first of two in the span of a week for the Lions. The match will be streamed live at www.OrlandoCitySC.com/LIVE.
In their last match, OCB fought back from a two-goal deficit to earn a point at home against Bethlehem Steel FC. Michael Cox assisted on Tyler Turner’s third goal of the season before Turner returned the favor for Cox’s own third goal to level the match. The pair’s three goals lead the team. Orlando City SC goalkeeper Earl Edwards, Jr. had an outstanding outing, making five saves.
The 2015 USL champion Rhinos are coming off a 0-0 draw against the Charlotte Independence on Saturday, May 14. The Rhinos had won three consecutive matches entering that game, with wins over FC Montreal, the Harrisburg City Islanders and the Charleston Battery.
Christian Volesky leads the Rhinos with three goals in seven games while midfielder Marcos Ugarte leads the team with two assists.
OCB returns to action on Saturday, May 28, when it hosts the Charlotte Independence at Titan Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
