MONTVERDE, Fla. (June 7, 2019) - Orlando City B (3-5-3, 12 points) turned a previous 2-1 loss against Forward Madison FC (2-6-2, 8 points) around on Friday, giving the Lions a 2-1 win at home. Friday’s win served as the team’s fourth consecutive match in which they secured a point.
Forward and captain Rafael Santos opened the scoring for the second consecutive game with a long range effort from outside the box. Friday’s opening goal served as his second professional goal, both within a week span. His goal against FC Tucson on May 31 was voted by fans as USL Goal of the Week in Week 10.
Thiago De Souza doubled the lead for OCB in the 62nd minute, scoring a right-footed shot from outside the box into the right corner. His goal served as his third goal of the season. He is now tied for most goals scored thus far for OCB alongside midfielder Koby Osei-Wusu.
It was De Souza’s second point on the night after assisting on Santos’ opening goal.
Forward Madison’s Brian Bement put a goal on the board for the Flamingos.
