Ahead of its inaugural 2019 USL League One season, Orlando City B signs U.S. youth national team forward and Orlando City Development Academy product Luc Granitur, pending league and Federation approval.

“Luc is a unique talent and one who we feel has the proper mentality and ability to play for the first team in time,” OCB general manager Mike Potempa said. “Granitur will be the youngest signing on our roster at just 15 years old, but he is already showing he can handle the level as he is currently our top goal scorer and points leader for the U19s.  Once again, it shows we believe in our Academy and we believe in opportunities for young players.”

Granitur, 15, has played for the OCDA since he was 13. In 2017-18, Granitur scored 33 goals in 32 games for the U-15s and one goal in three games for the U-18/19s. This season, Granitur has two goals in two games with the U-16/17s and four goals in six games with the U-18/19s.

The Vero Beach, Fla., native earned his first U.S. U-16 national team call-up in June. Granitur is in 11th grade and will continue his high school education at Montverde Academy while playing for OCB.

Granitur is the second player signed to OCB after 17-year-old midfielder Jordan Bender signed on Wednesday.
