ORLANDO, Fla. (April 4, 2019) - Orlando City SC (1-2-2, 5 points) will close out a two-game home stand on Saturday when it hosts the Colorado Rapids (0-3-2, 2 points) at Orlando City Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
The match will be locally televised on My65 and available on YouTube TV. It will also be broadcasted on Real Radio 104.1 FM in English and La Nueva 990 AM in Spanish.
“Listen, I don’t look at what points teams have, I look at their threats. Kei Kamara, (Benny) Feilhaber, (Diego) Rubio they have multiple threats that can cause you problems,” Head Coach James O’Connor said. “For us, it’s about making sure that we’re dialed in and we’ve got the right mentality going into the game.”
City will look to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to D.C. United this past Sunday. The current Eastern Conference leaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Steve Birnbaum and Wayne Rooney in the sixth and 30th minutes respectively. Dom Dwyer answered for the Lions in the 63rd minute, but a second-half surge by the home side came up short in the end.
Dwyer leads the Lions with three goals this season, while Nani is tied for the league-lead in assists with three. Goalkeeper Brian Rowe has recorded 18 saves in 2019, tied for first in MLS with Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
The Rapids are coming off a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Houston Dynamo this Saturday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Dynamo registered the first four goals on the match with the lone Colorado goal coming from Kei Kamara off a penalty kick in the 81st minute.
Kamara leads the Rapids with two goals in 2019, while goalkeeper Tim Howard sits at third in MLS with 17 saves.
Following Saturday’s contest, City will head out west to face Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 13 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
