ORLANDO, Fla. (July 6, 2017) - The Orlando City Development Academy U-17/18 team will host the Colorado Rapids DA U-17/18s in the U.S. Soccer DA Knockout Round on Friday, July 6. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET at Orlando City Stadium.
The winner of the match will advance to the Development Academy Championships at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

The Orlando City U-17/18s entered the playoffs ranked No. 2 in the country after compiling a 24-5-1 record in the regular season. City then won all three games in Group G, including a must-win finale over the hometown Indiana Fire, to advance to the knockout round for the first time in its history. The U-17/18s are the highest ranked team remaining in the tournament.
City will take on the Colorado Rapids U-17/18s, who won Group F after qualifying in the ninth wildcard spot. Colorado defeated Baltimore Armour, Capital Area Railhawks and Chicago Fire to win the group.
City’s U-17/18s are coached by first-year Academy Director David Longwell. Landen Haig leads the team with 15 goals and Raul Aguilera and David Loera have 14 each, including three in three playoff matches for Loera.
The Orlando City Development Academy is the Club’s youth development system that selects and trains elite youth soccer players with the hopes of developing future First Team talents. Two Academy products, Mason Stajduhar and Pierre Da Silva, are currently on City’s First Team roster. Five current Academy players have played for Orlando City B or been included in 18-man gameday selections.
