ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2018) - Orlando City SC will host the annual Orlando City Foundation FootGolf Tournament presented by FAIRWINDS Credit Union on Monday, Oct. 1, at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Grande Lakes.

Funds raised for this year’s event will primarily go toward OCPS Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), a community partnership school in Parramore that is launching a new after-school soccer program this fall in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida.

“This is a fun event that brings our players, fans and partners together to raise funds for initiatives in our community,” Kay Rawlins, Orlando City SC Founder and VP of Community Relations, said. “One of our main goals is to provide resources that keep children off the streets in safe and positive learning environments. We fund and support soccer programs, outfit players, build mini pitch facilities and maintain healthy, community garden centers throughout many after-school centers surrounding our stadium.”

Grade K-12 community partnership schools, such as OCPS ACE, bring core partners together to work on securing resources that address student, family and community needs. Schools under this model have proven successful in increasing graduation and attendance rates as well as improving parent involvement and access to health and wellness services in low-income areas.

Recently, the Foundation held its annual PlayBingo Ladies Luncheon, which raised over $65,000 to be used for an Ecotherapy garden for survivors of human trafficking in partnership with Florida Abolitionist in Orlando.
