ORLANDO, Fla. (December 13, 2024) — Orlando City SC forward Duncan McGuire has recently undergone successful arthroscopic surgery for a labral and rotator cuff repair in his right shoulder, the Club announced today. McGuire’s surgery was performed by the Club’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Craig Mintzer, part of the team’s official medical team at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute.
McGuire has started 43 matches in 74 total appearances across all competitions in two seasons in Orlando, scoring 26 goals and providing six assists. The Omaha, Nebraska native was selected sixth overall by the Lions in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft.
McGuire’s initial expected recovery timeline is set at 4-5 months and will be continuously evaluated throughout the rehab process.
