ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 15, 2023) – Orlando City SC has completed a transfer of defender Antonio Carlos to Fluminense FC of Brazil's Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, it was announced today. Per Club policy, terms of the transfer will not be disclosed.

We’ll miss his energy and intensity, and thank him for everything that he has given to our Club and its fans,” said Luiz Muzzi, Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager. “On behalf of the entire organization, we want to thank Antonio for his commitment to the Club and wish him the best of luck in this next opportunity.”
Antonio Carlos, 30, joined the Lions ahead of the 2020 season on loan from Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. Since his first season, the Brazilian center back has made 93 starts in 105 appearances across four seasons with the Club, scoring four goals and providing five assists in purple.
The 6-foot-3 defender returns home to Brazil having helped lead Orlando City to its first trophy in its MLS era with the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, four-consecutive Audi MLS Cup Playoff appearances, its first appearance in the Concacaf Champions League and an appearance in the MLS is Back Tournament Final.
