ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2020) - Orlando Pride midfielder Emily van Egmond has been loaned to West Ham United FC Women of the FA WSL, it was announced today. Van Egmond will join West Ham immediately, with the loan set to expire at the end of the calendar year.
In 2019, van Egmond appeared in eight matches for the Pride with seven starts, missing the majority of the season while away at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. Upon return, her season was cut short due to an ankle injury.
This past offseason, van Egmond won the double in Australia’s Westfield W-League while on loan with Melbourne City FC, winning both the Premiership and Championship. Van Egmond was in terrific form for Melbourne, starting all 14 matches, scoring six goals and adding one assist.
The loan will mark van Egmond’s first stint in the FA WSL, having previously played professionally in her native Australia, as well as Denmark and Germany before returning to the NWSL in 2018. Since joining the Pride, van Egmond has registered 25 appearances for the Club, tallying two assists.
