The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup continues in France where the Orlando Pride have nine players representing five nations in this summer’s international competition. With each team’s first two matches under their belt, the Pride have had seven of their nine international players make appearances, with Marta (Brazil) and Ali Krieger (USA) making their 2019 World Cup debuts on Match Day 2.
Every 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup match can be streamed on the Fox Sports App or on FOXSports.com. All games are broadcast on the FOX family of networks.
All teams will conclude group play this week, looking to secure final group seedings and matchups for the first stage of the knockout rounds. Fans are invited to Church Street’s Block Party on Thursday afternoon, to root on the USA as they take on Sweden in their final match of group play at 3 p.m. ET.

Thursday, June 13:
Australia 3, Brazil 2 (Group C)
Australian internationals Alanna Kennedy and Emily van Egmond were both featured in the starting XI and played the entirety of the match on Thursday. Marta was in Brazil’s starting XI and kicked off the scoring when she converted a penalty kick in the 27th minute. Brazil doubled their lead in the 38th minute with a goal from Cristiane.
Australia ended the first half strongly with a goal from Portland Thorns FC’s Caitlin Foord in the 46th minute. The Matildas quickly tied up the game when Washington Spirit forward Chloe Logarzo’s long range shot found the back of the net in the 58th minute. In the 66th minute, Brazil’s Mônica scored an own goal, which would consequently win the game for Australia. Camila did not appear in Thursday’s match.
With her 16th career World Cup goal, Marta is now the only player, male or female, that has scored in five different World Cups. She holds the record for the amount of goals in the Women’s World Cup competition and is now tied with Germany’s Miroslav Klose for the record for most World Cup goals, male or female.
Next Match: Australia and Brazil will round out group play on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET as the Australians take on Jamaica, while Brazil squares off with Italy at the same time.
Friday, June 14:
Japan 2, Scotland 1 (Group D)
Newly-signed Pride forward Claire Emslie’s Scotland fell to Japan 2-1. Emslie did not start, but came on as the team’s first sub in the 59th minute. Japan’s Mana Iwabuchi and Yuika Sugasawa scored a goal apiece, while Scotland’s Lana Clelland scored in the 87th minute, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Japan.
Next Match: Scotland finish Group D play against Argentina on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET.
Saturday, June 15:
Canada 2, New Zealand 0 (Group E)
Pride defender Shelina Zadorsky started and played all 90 minutes in Canada’s 2-0 win over New Zealand, which booked a spot in the knockout rounds. Goals from Jessie Fleming and Nichelle Prince guided Canada to the win. Zadorsky and the Canadians have cruised through the first two fixtures of Group E with wins over Cameroon and New Zealand. A stiffer test awaits as Canada battles the Netherlands for the top seed in Group E.
Next Match: Canada will close out its fixtures in Group E with a game against the Netherlands on Thursday at 12 p.m. ET.
Sunday, June 16:
USA 3, Chile 0 (Group F)
Orlando Pride defender Ali Krieger was in the United States’ starting XI for their 3-0 win over Chile on Sunday. Carli Lloyd scored a brace for the U.S. with goals in the 11th and 35th minutes of the game, while Julie Ertz got in on the action with a goal of her own in the 26th. Ashlyn Harris and Alex Morgan, fresh off her five-goal opener against Thailand, were unused substitutes for the Americans. With another shutout win, the U.S. is through to the knockout rounds.
