Orlando City's under-15 squad is moving on to the quarterfinals at the 2023 Generation adidas Cup.
After coming out on top in Group Play to advance to the Round of 16, the young Lions blanked the Seattle Sounders U15s 1-0 on Wednesday at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Jarell Bonilla netted the winning goal for Orlando, his first of the tournament. Bonilla was also clutch in securing Orlando two points in Saturday's tournament opener against the Houston Dynamo, converting one of the team's five successful attempts from the spot in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The U15s advance to face Columbus Crew on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Columbus edged French side Toulouse FC, 2-1, in their Round of 16 matchup.
Under-17s: Orlando City comes up just short against NYCFC
Following a dominant run in Group Play in Bradenton, the under-17 squad fell just short in a 1-0 defeat to NYCFC on Wednesday afternoon in the Round of 16.
To earn their place in the Playoffs, the U17s knocked off Club LeĆ³n in penalties, and earned wins over New England Revolution and Nashville SC to take the top spot in Group 9 with eight points.
The Lions will now move to the Showcase Bracket at a date and time to be determined.
