1. Stop me if you've heard this one before. The Cardiac CatsTM strike again after finding themselves down 1-0 early and 2-1 late, completing the come back in stoppage time against CF Montréal to take points on the road in Canada.
2. Ivan Angulo's stoppage-time equalizer was enough to take a point in Montréal for the first time since 2021, thanks to some timely delivery by Martin Ojeda. A quick back-post run by the Colombian was enough to tap in the pinpoint ball by the Argentine, leveling the game in the 92nd minute.
3. The Lions' first goal came from a penalty spot as Facundo Torres continues to convert when called upon. Throughout his career for the Lions, Torres is 9-9 in penalties taken, proving himself to be a clinical finisher in those moments.
4. While the Lions once again pulled a comeback out on the road, they also struggled with the same thing in consecutive games: conceding early. While it wasn't as bad as last week against D.C., the Mason Toye goal in the 16th minute was again a miscue in the backline, leading to an easy goal. It's a trend that many of the players have been aware of the last few weeks, but still fall victim to over and over again. The good news is there is still plenty of season to go in order to figure it out.
5. The bench impact was once again...well...impactful for the Lions. Ojeda and Rafael Santos coming off the bench to help create that game-tying chance shows how valuable the depth of this team can be.
6. The midfield pairing of Cesar Araujo and Wilder Cartegena started to look like days of old in this match, combining to go 8-8 in tackles won. Cartegena led the Lions in passes, while Araujo led them in passing accuracy. Their ability to break up plays in the midfield will be crucial for Orlando going forward.
7. Dagur Dan Thorhallsson played his 50th match for the Lions across all competitions tonight, a milestone for the midfielder-turned-fullback, having just arrived last year. He was able to have an overall solid night in the back, helping cover some of Montréal's dangerous wingers.
8. Overall, the Lions took four points on the road in back-to-back matches and now return home for a two-game swing. After a slow start to the season, Orlando has gone four games unbeaten, a good turnaround considering the results to begin MLS play this year.
9. The Lions will return to INTER&Co Stadium next Saturday to host Toronto FC, yet another Canadian team. That match will kick off on April 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
