1. A massive win on the road. Orlando City SC held on in the second half, putting on a defensive showing in the final 45 minutes to stave off Toronto FC for a 2-1 win.
2. It was a special result for the Lions team, as Head Coach Oscar Pareja said after the game that they had dedicated it to goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar, who recently had season-ending surgery to repair his broken tibia and fibula. "This win was for him," Pareja said in his presser. Before the match, the players and staff got together to take a photo of them holding a shirt, supporting the Homegrown keeper and wishing him well in his recovery.
3. Tincho Time! Martín Ojeda's goal in the 27th minute was a picture-perfect buildup, with Facundo Torres and Iván Angulo providing the assists. A line-breaking pass from Facu and a left-footed cross from Iván found the wide-open Ojeda for his second of the season, and it was exactly what he and the Lions needed in that moment.
4. How they got there is still an ongoing issue, however. Toronto scored early in the match, the 10th goal the Lions have conceded in the first 15 minutes of games. It's also the team's 19th goal they've conceded in the first half. It's an unsettling trend that has continued to rear its ugly head. This time, however, Orlando was able to pick itself back up and get two back the other way.
5. The win also marked the first time since May 12 that Orlando City won after conceding the opening goal. That game, against the Philadelphia Union, was also on the road, making this their third win in nine games on the road that they have taken all three points after giving up the first goal.
6. This game marked the third win for the Lions when leading at halftime. In only four games have Orlando led after 45 minutes, and they have won all but one of them. The lone draw came against the Chicago Fire up in the Windy City in May.
7. Welcome back Pedro and Wilder! The Peruvians played their first game with the Lions since their stint playing in Copa America, with Cartagena shifting back into his usual midfield role. Despite not registering a save on the night, Gallese did well to command his box in the second half and came up with some big punches in dangerous areas. Cartagena led the team in duels won and was second in passing accuracy, only behind his midfield partner César Araújo.
8. The Lions now head home to prepare for a weekend matchup with D.C. United, as the Lions prepare to honor their inaugural captain, Kaká, following the match as the first inductee into the Lions "Legends Terrace." Kickoff for the match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at INTER&Co Stadium.
