Just GOAT Things

Marta scored her second goal of the season in the Pride’s last outing against the Washington Spirit. The left-footed strike was the Brazilian's eighth career goal against the Spirit in 10 total games. Marta’s eight goals against the Spirit is the most any Pride player has scored against any opponent in Club history, while also extending her own Club-record with her 25th finish for the Pride.

All-Time Saves

Ashlyn Harris bagged five saves against the Spirit last Saturday, meaning the goalkeeper is just three saves away from breaking the record for all-time regular season saves in NWSL. Harris sits with 466 total saves and is on the verge of surpassing former Kansas City goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart (468). The three keepers chasing Harris are Alyssa Naeher (431), Kailen Sheridan (324) and Adrianna Franch (298).

Taylor’s Hot August

Jodie Taylor has contributed a goal or assist in the last three matches for the Pride. Taylor scored the eventual game-winner against the Red Stars on Aug. 8 in what also served as her first goal for the Pride. The following week, Taylor scored against her former club, the Portland Thorns, before continuing her contributions last week in the nation’s capital, earning the assist on Marta's 68th minute finish.

Last Time Against Gotham

The Pride took on Gotham earlier this season in downtown Orlando, where the two sides played to a 1-1 draw. Caprice Dydasco opened the scoring in the 45th minute for Gotham, but Courtney Petersen answered back in the 90th minute, off an assist from Marta, to secure the draw in what served as Petersen’s first professional goal.

Unbeaten Through Four

Orlando is unbeaten in their last four matches against Gotham in regular season play, with a record of 2-0-2 in those contests. The streak dates back to 2019, where the Pride took two victories and a draw over Gotham in their three regular season meetings. Earlier this season, Orlando added to this streak when the Club secured the draw at Exploria Stadium.

Milestone Tracker

In addition to Harris’ upcoming feat, the Pride are just goals away from scoring the 150th goal in Club history. Following Marta’s goal in Washington last week, Orlando has totaled 147 goals across all competitions in its history.

On the appearances front, goalkeeper Erin McLeod is one appearance away from her 50th NWSL regular season appearance, while Ali Krieger is two away from 150 across all competitions.
