Scoring Early

With Sydney Leroux’s goal recorded at the 2:08 mark in the last match against Angel City FC, she now holds the spot for the third fastest goal in Club history. She narrowly pushed out Jodie Taylor’s 2:27 goal against Racing Louisville from October 16, 2021. This goal marked Leroux’s first of the season and her 17th across all competitions with the Pride.

Undefeated Record

The Orlando Pride swept the regular season series against the 2021 expansion side last year winning 1-0 at home and picking up a 3-1 victory on the road. The Pride look to up their win streak against the Current to three, which would be the club’s longest active winning streak against another NWSL side in regular season competitions.

Pressley Hits 100

Sunday’s match against Angel City FC saw defender Toni Pressley hit 100 regular season appearances, 66 of those coming with the Pride. Pressley is the only remaining inaugural Pride player from the original 2016 team. A Melbourne native, Pressley was selected in the 2016 NWSL Expansion Draft. Pressley made her return to the pitch on October 12, 2019 after undergoing treatment for breast cancer. 

Clean Sheet

Erin McLeod recorded her first regular season clean sheet as a member of the Pride in the 1-0 victory over Angel City. The game served as her 10th NWSL clean sheet overall. McLeod made four saves on the night including a goal line stop in the 90th minute to preserve the victory. 

Cromwell’s First Win

The team's performance on Sunday against Angel City provided Cromwell with her first professional win in the city she had called home for the previous nine years. Cromwell was previously the head coach of the UCLA Bruins where she led the team to the Championship in 2013, multiple college Cup and Sweet 16 appearances, four Pac-12 team titles and the most recent conference title in 2021.

Back to Where it Started

Ahead of last week’s match, the Pride signed Canadian midfielder Jordyn Listro to a contract for the remainder of the 2022 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. Listro, 25, rejoins the Club after first signing a short-term contract with the Pride for the Fall Series in 2020. Listro appeared in three of the Pride’s four Fall Series matches, eventually signing a full contract ahead of the 2021 NWSL season before being traded to Kansas City Current in March of that year.
