Everything you need to know for the Lions' home match on Video Game Night in "The Road Ahead" driven by Audi:

Milestones

- Martín Ojeda’s next goal contribution, his 73rd in all competitions for Orlando City, will hand him sole possession of the club’s all-time record. Ojeda tied Facundo Torres with his 72nd career goal contribution against the LA Galaxy in the Leagues Cup third-place match.

- Ojeda’s next goal will see him surpass Nani for third all-time in Orlando City history at 32. Ojeda is already second in club history in assists, six away from matching Mauricio Pereyra’s club record of 47.

- Ojeda’s next goal, his 19th of 2025, will also pass Cyle Larin’s 2015 season for the second-highest scoring season in club history. Ojeda is two goals away from tying Torres’ club record 20-goal haul from 2024.

- Iván Angulo is two minutes away from 10,000 in all competitions for Orlando City. Angulo would be the sixth player on the active roster to hit the 10,000-minute plateau for the club (Robin Jansson, Pedro Gallese, Rodrigo Schlegel, César Araújo, Kyle Smith).

Stats & Storylines

- Orlando City drew D.C. United 1-1 at Audi Field last weekend despite a strong performance that saw the Lions outshoot the Black-and-Red 26-6. Alex Freeman scored his fifth goal of the season, heading home a rebound after Marco Pašalić stung the goalkeeper’s palms with one of the Croatian’s team-high seven shots on the night.

- The Lions are desperate to return to winning ways this weekend against Nashville. While the point in Washington snapped Orlando’s three-game losing streak, the Lions remain winless in five, their longest run without a victory in 2025. Orlando last won on August 16 against Sporting Kansas City.

- That SKC game was Orlando’s last match at home – the Lions have played each of their past five games in all competitions on the road, traveling to Los Angeles twice and once each to Nashville, Fort Lauderdale, and the nation’s capital. Going from airport to airport, Orlando City traveled approximately 10,939 air miles over the past month and spent over a week in hotels. Orlando is 10-5-4 at home in all competitions this season and will play three of its next four in the City Beautiful.

- The game against Nashville has massive playoff implications. Orlando enters Matchday 35 seventh in the East on points but eighth in points per game, putting them on pace to play in the winner-take-all Wild Card Round the Wednesday after Decision Day. Do not despair, though – the Lions are just four hundredths of a point per game from fifth in the East, and Nashville is the team directly above Orlando in the PPG standings, just one hundredth of a point better on the season.

- Martín Ojeda went a full league match without scoring or assisting a goal for the first time since May 24, ending a historic run of 12 consecutive MLS regular season matches with a goal contribution. The streak ranks as the second-longest in MLS history. Ojeda remains near the top of the Landon Donovan MLS MVP race, ranking second in MLS in assists, third in total goal contributions, and third in key passes.

- Orlando City will have DP striker Luis Muriel available for this game after he sat out against D.C. United with a suspension. The Colombian racked up a team-best six goals in the month of August, bringing him to 12g/8a in all competitions for 2025.

Meet the opponent: Nashville SC

- In the midst of its run to the Leagues Cup semifinals, Orlando City heavily rotated for their league game at GEODIS Park in Nashville last month and paid the price, going 4-0 down at halftime and eventually falling 5-1 to the Coyotes, their worst loss in the 16-game history of the rivalry. Ojeda did not even appear in the game, while Muriel picked up both a goal and a red card in an eventful seven minute cameo off the bench.

- Nashville has struggled badly over the past several weeks outside of that big win against Orlando, losing each of their other five matches played in the league since July 25. The poor run of form has largely removed Nashville from the Supporters’ Shield race, though the club is still in a comfortable playoff position thanks to a 10-1-4 run from April 26-July 19.

- Nashville’s devastating DP combo of Sam Surridge and Hany Mukhtar went to town on Orlando City last month, each scoring a brace while combining to assist three of the five goals. Mukhtar is one goal away from matching Ignacio Piatti and Josef Martínez for the most goals ever scored against Orlando City with 10. The 2022 MLS MVP is also the all-time leader in goal contributions against the Lions with 16 (9g/7a in all competitions). Surridge, meanwhile, scored his 21st goal of the season last week to maintain his lead over Lionel Messi for the MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi.

- The Coyotes picked up a huge result midweek, downing the Philadelphia Union 3-1 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinal to move on to their second final in club history (2023 Leagues Cup). Surridge scored a hat trick in the game, bringing him to five goals in just two appearances in the competition and a staggering 26 total goals for 2025. Nashville will travel for the final on October 1.
