Orlando Pride Head Coach Seb Hines
Opening Statement
“I thought in the first half we played some really good football without threatening their goal. Bay made it difficult for us to find any sort of success in that attacking third. Second half, it was a quick free kick, and Barbra [Banda] does really well to get a shot off. We were 1-0 up and we showed our character towards the end, throwing our bodies on the line and making sure that we don’t concede. When we take the lead in games we become very difficult to play against. I was really proud of the players and their effort and their commitment and everything they put into it to get the three points.”
On the performance of the backline
“We kind of got away from being ourselves and being hard to score against. Looking at the most recent results with 1-0 victories and clean sheets, it is more positive when we look at those results and we keep clean sheets. It takes everyone to achieve that goal. Really proud of them, really proud with the backline and the midfielders and forwards to really solidify that clean sheet today and hopefully we can get another one next week.”
On coming away with back-to-back victories at Bay
“You look at the time now and everyone is in bed out in Eastern time. It is a five and half hour journey and the time difference but let's look at Bay. They have some world-class players here and have some really good young talents players as well. The crowd gets really behind them as well. Any time you can come to an NWSL away match and get three points, it is a massive achievement. These are difficult games every time we step onto the field so to come away with three points is a massive achievement.”
Orlando Pride Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse
Opening statement
“It was a tough game towards the end. I thought we got back to how we defended last season with everything, with grit. It was a full team effort, Barbra [Banda] scored the goal, and it is a great feeling.”
On the rotation of the backline
“We have had a lot of rotation, we have a long season to cope with this year. Everyone coming in, like we have been saying, has been doing a great job. It is starting to click defensively, and we are all on the same page and we are getting the rewards for it.”
On her call up to the England National Team for the upcoming Euros
“It has been a long time in the making. It is something that I am incredibly proud of. I just want to go there and enjoy the time that I have and hopefully get some good experiences there.”
