Travel Guide Denver

Orlando City ends their two game road swing in Denver when they face the Colorado Rapids for the first time this season. This is also the Lions first time in the club's MLS history traveling to the Centennial State to face the Rapids.

The Venue

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park has been the home of the Rapids since 2007 and is a soccer specific stadium that can sit up to 18,061 people. The stadium also features cutting edge technology, including the largest video scoreboard and the most LED boards for a stadium its size anywhere, as well as the only fully-integrated digital electrical signage system in the world.

The Rapids only have one recognized supporter group: Centennial 38 aka C38.

Thing To Do

Red Rocks
Whatever you’re planning – a concert, Film on the Rocks, a hard-core workout – you absolutely must go. Actually, this item should probably require a minimum of five visits before it’s complete, with some kind of punch-card system.

Denver Art Museum
One of the largest art museums in the West and is renowned for its collection of American Indian Art, as well as their evolving collections of over 68,000 unique works from around the world. The museums collections are spread over nine curatorial sections, ranging from architecture, design and graphics to Asian, New World, European and Modern art.

Coors Field
Friday night before the match between Orlando City and the Rapids head to Coors Field to take in a bit of baseball as the Rockies host the Chicago Cubs. Think of it as a nice warm up for Saturday night. You can drink some brews, get your vocals warm by singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and show baseball fans how much cooler soccer supporters are.

Bonus: Inside the stadium, the Rooftop is a 38,000 square feet area in upper right field where you’ll find eateries and bars and if you get there 2 hours before the scheduled first pitch you can get drink specials like $3 Coors and Coors Light.

Bars and Restaurants

Habit Doughnut Dispensary
Cure your case of the munchies at this doughnut shop where you can get white girl wasted (AKA their honey brioche donut with espresso glaze, peanut butter drizzle, chocolate cookie crumble and potato chips), along with a ton of other one-of-a-kind creations. And if you need a shot of Jack Daniels or a lighter - they’ve got that too.

Punch Bowl Social
Dining + Bar + Bowling = Winning. This entertainment mecca is perfect for large groups. If bowling isn’t your thing they also have shuffleboard, ping-pong and arcade games.  In terms of food, you have plenty to choose from bar bites to burgers to craft sandwiches. If you’re looking to get your booze on try one of their adult milkshakes or get a punch that can serve up to eight people…or just keep it for yourself.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
This rooftop bar is on here for all my whiskey lovers out there. Whether you’re going to watch sports on their big screen TVs or just want to sample 90+ whiskeys, WTF’s rooftop is a sure thing. If there's one thing that unites literally all Coloradans, it's a love for the outdoors. But booze clocks in at a close second. So of course, combining the two is the perfect way to unwind in Denver.

Tequila, Taco & Cerveza Fest
If you plan on being in Denver until Monday stop by this festival on Sunday at Mile High Station. What do you get when you combine Mexican-style beer, tequila and food trucks serving up tacos and more Mexican-style eats? One hell of a party that you won’t want to miss.
