Here are five storylines to watch for Saturday's matchup with Nashville:
Familiar Foe
Heading into Saturday’s matchup, Orlando City holds a 7W-6L-5D record across all-competitions when facing Nashville SC. Nashville took the first meeting between the sides earlier this season in the Lions’ lone trip to GEODIS Park on March 21, while Orlando City claimed the most recent meeting in Central Florida, earning a 3-2 victory at Inter.co Stadium on Sept. 20, 2025. Forward Martín Ojeda led the Lions with a brace in that win, one of his four multi-goal performances across all competitions during the 2025 season.
All-Star Shutout
Orlando City recorded its first MLS clean sheet of the 2026 season in a 4-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes in the club’s first match following the MLS break for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The shutout marked the Lions’ second clean sheet across all competitions this season, after they also held USL side FC Naples scoreless in a 1-0 victory in the first round of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. All-Star goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau anchored the effort with seven saves. The Canadian international has made 70 saves in MLS play this season, ranking third in the league, while the shutout marked his first clean sheet as a Lion and the 28th of his MLS career.
Bonjour, MLS
The Lions’ 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes marked the Major League Soccer debut of 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman scored in the 48th minute off a Justin Ellis assist to extend the Lions’ lead, with the strike marking the 300th professional club goal of his career after he entered his Orlando City tenure with 299 goals across his time with Real Sociedad, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid.
Hat Trick of Helpers
Midfielder Eduard Atuesta recorded three assists in Orlando City’s 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, setting up goals by David Brekalo, Iván Angulo and Braian Ojeda. The helpers were Atuesta’s first three assists of the 2026 campaign and the eighth, ninth and 10th of his Orlando City career across all competitions. The three-assist performance tied his career high, which he previously set in a 4-2 win over St. Louis CITY SC on June 25, 2025. It also marked the third multi-assist performance of his MLS career.
Angulo Opens 2026 Account
Forward Iván Angulo scored his first goal of the 2026 campaign in Orlando City’s 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, collecting a pass from Eduard Atuesta just outside the box and firing a low shot inside the far post in the 29th minute. The goal marked the 13th of Angulo’s Orlando City career across all competitions. The Colombian winger last scored for the Lions in a win over Atlas Guadalajara in group play of Leagues Cup 2025 on Aug. 2, 2025.
