KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 9, 2023) – Orlando City B (10-9-3, 34 points) suffered a loss against New England Revolution II (11-5-6, 43 points) on Wednesday, August 9, at Osceola County Stadium following a tense match that resulted in a 5-4 final scoreline on the night.
The Lions conceded after an intense duel against the New England based club. The evening was filled with goals after Orlando City defender Rodrigo Schlegel was the first Lion to score, tallying his first goal of with the MLS NEXT Pro side. That lead didn’t last long as the visitors found the back of the net twice to take over. Jhon Solís leveled things with his first goal of the season in the last minute of the first half.
In the late minutes of the second half, Favian Loyola netted his second goal of the campaign, giving the Lions an extra push and getting them right back into things. Orlando City midfielder Felipe Martins tallied his first assist on Nabi Kibunguchy’s fourth goal of the year, inching the Lions closer to tying things up but ultimately falling just shy at the end.
The Lions will return to action on Sunday, August 13 traveling to take on New York City FC II at Benson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

The visitors leveled the score just two minutes later with Jake Rozhansky driving down the Revolution’s right flank before firing a cross to Peyton Miller who put it past Orlando City goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar.

The Revs added another to their lead in the 53rd minute following a foul conceded just inside the OCB penalty area. Joshus Bolma stepped up after turning provider on the previous goal to take the spot kick. Bolma took a stutter step and fired it low into the right-hand corner for their fifth of the night.
68’ Favian Loyola (Wilfredo Rivera) – NE 5, ORL 3
The Lions added a third to their score after Favian Loyola sent the ball into the left side of the net with a header from a Wilfredo Rivera cross. Loyola immediately made an impact after subbing on and scoring in the same minute of the match.
74’ Nabi Kibunguchy (Felipe Martins) – NE 5, ORL 4
The Lions drew one goal closer with a fourth tally to their score after a corner from Felipe Martins fell directly to Nabi Kibunguchy’s feet and then pushed the ball into the net past the Rev’s goalkeeper Jacob Jackson.
