KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2024) – Orlando City B (10-7-9, 43 points) scored two second-half goals to take down New England Revolution II (4-16-5, 21 points) 2-0 at Osceola County Stadium on Sunday evening. The win is the Lions’ first against Revolution II in Club history since joining MLS NEXT Pro in 2022. OCB extended its home unbeaten streak to five games while also winning three-straight matches and taking five of its last six.
After a scoreless first half where New England seemed to have the advantage, it was the young Lions that broke the draw early in the second half. Defender Alex Freeman scored his seventh goal of the 2024 season and his fifth in the last four OCB matches. Midfielder Shak Mohammed picked up his first assist of the campaign by setting up the Freeman game-winner. Orlando City forward Jack Lynn added the insurance for his second in as many games.
With six saves in the match, goalkeeper Carlos Mercado recorded his second clean sheet of the 2024 campaign.

Less than five minutes into the second half, the young Lions broke the scoreless draw. Midfielder Shak Mohammed gained control within the New England defensive zone and threaded a pass outside to defender Alex Freeman. After dribbling through the Revolution defense, Freeman found himself at the end line and ripped a shot to the far side of the net for the match’s first goal.

OCB doubled its lead on a strike from Jack Lynn. After getting a clearance, midfielder Jeorgio Kocevski sent a long lead pass past the New England back line to Lynn sprinting through the middle of the field. After catching up to the pass, Lynn had just the goalkeeper to beat and calmly sent a shot into the back of the net.
