Orlando City B forward Yutaro Tsukada named Honorable Mention for MLS NEXT Pro Best XI

ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 16, 2024) - Orlando City B forward Yutaro Tsukada was named as an honorable mention by MLS NEXT Pro for the league’s Best XI honor, it was announced today. Tsukada earned his first Best XI honor of his career during his rookie season after being drafted by City with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

The Japanese-born forward appeared in 22 matches for the young Lions and was a key part to the team’s success throughout the campaign. Tsukada accounted for seven goals and seven assists putting him in the top three of both categories for the Club. Tsukada signed a first-team contract with Orlando City SC on Aug. 15 and appeared in three games for the first team during the 2024 MLS season.

Orlando City B is gearing up for its playoff match against Chicago Fire FC II on Sunday, Oct. 20 at SeatGeek Stadium in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The young Lions finished the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 11-8-9 with 46 points.
