What Crew is Next?
The Lions will face off against the No. 3 seeded Columbus Crew 2 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2023 MLS Next Pro Playoffs. The 2023 campaign featured a new expanded playoff format that included a ‘pick-your-opponent' structure in the first two rounds, with the Crew selecting OCB as the team to square off against. The two sides split the season series with the Lions winning 4-1 at home and the Crew winning 4-0 in Columbus.
Shak Attack
Orlando City B midfielder Shak Mohammed found the back of the net for the Lions in their previous match on Decision Day, with a strike that ended up being the eventual game-winner. The goal served as his sixth of the season, making him the second-highest goal scorer on the team this season.
Just a Little Help
Wilfredo Rivera and Juninho both recorded an assist in the Lions’ match against FC Cincinnati 2 on Decision Day. For Rivera, it counted as his third helper of the season, as well as his second-consecutive match recording a goal contribution. City’s captain, Juninho, earned his fifth assist of the 2023 campaign, which is the second-most for the entire Club this year.
