Last Time Around
Orlando City B will make its first visit to Alabama this weekend, traveling to take on Huntsville City FC in what will serve as the second meeting of the campaign between the two sides. The first came on March 31, in the home opener for Orlando City B with the Lions taking a 2-1 victory on the night, with Alex Freeman scoring the first goals of his professional career with a brace in the contest.
Leading the Pack
Jack Lynn found the back of the net for Orlando City B for the eighth and ninth times this campaign on Sunday night in Kentucky, now tied for second in MLS NEXT Pro for goals scored in 2023. Lynn’s nine goals leads the Lions on the year, now more than halfway to his total from a year ago that saw him find the back of the net 15 times in MLS NEXT Pro play.
A Standout Performance
Orlando City B captain Juninho kickstarted the comeback for the Lions against FC Cincinnati 2 over the weekend, scoring a brace and tallying an assist to help the side overcome two separate deficits and take all three points home from NKU Soccer Stadium. The Vasco da Gama-product has appeared 13 times for the Lions this campaign, all of which have been starts, with three assists to add to his trio of finishes.
A Helping Hand
Two members of the side logged an assist for the Lions this past weekend in Shak Mohammed and Jhon Solís, the former tallying the first helper of his professional career while the latter notched his second for the Lions. Mohammed was selected by Orlando City at No. 2 overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft out of Duke University and has since appeared in 13 matches for OCB, scoring two goals to add to his one assist. Solís serves as one of two members of Orlando City B to have started all 16 matches for the side this campaign alongside teammate Nabi Kibunguchy.
