Comeback Complete
After Chicago Fire FC II carried a 2-0 lead into halftime last weekend, Orlando City B mounted a second-half comeback, forcing an own goal from goalkeeper Owen Pratt before finding a stoppage-time equalizer to send the match to the end-of-regulation shootout. Gustavo Caraballo, Dylan Judelson, Brady Kendall and Parker Amoo-Mensah all converted to secure two points for the Lions.
Lasheras’ Equalizer
In the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, Orlando City Academy’s Nicolas Lasheras rose to head home the match equalizer. It marked the 17-year-olds first professional goal in his seventh appearance for the Lions, capping off a late surge with a crucial moment deep in stoppage time.
Late Game Lions
Orlando City B has built a habit of going to the wire of contests, with back-to-back matches decided in end-of-regulation shootouts. The Lions showed composure under pressure in consecutive spot-kick finishes against Carolina Core FC and Chicago Fire FC II, securing the extra points from the two tightly contested performances.
Return of Ignacio Gomez
Midfielder Ignacio Gomez returned to Orlando City B’s starting lineup in the match against Chicago Fire FC II after making two appearances with Orlando City SC, where he made his MLS debut against Houston Dynamo FC and scored his first career MLS goal against Charlotte FC. He rejoins the OCB side ahead of the Lions return to Osceola County Stadium.
