ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 2, 2024) — The Orlando Pride and Evelina Duljan have agreed to a contract, signing the Swedish midfielder through the 2024 season. Duljan joins the Pride after spending last season with Juventus of the Serie A league in Italy.
“Evelina is a young, versatile athlete with significant potential, and she offers us added depth in our attack,” Orlando Pride VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Haley Carter said. “She brings pace, technical quality, and a very high soccer IQ. She’s excellent at finding seams, confident taking on defenders, and works tirelessly on both sides of the ball. We’re excited for what she brings to our roster and are fortunate to play a role in her continued growth and development, both on and off the field.”
“It feels amazing to be joining this amazing club and to be part of the Orlando Pride family,” Duljan said. “I’m really happy and excited and can’t wait to get started. See you soon!”
Duljan joins the Pride after previously playing at Juventus where she made 23 appearances for the first team, helping the side win the Italian Cup in the 2023 season. The 20-year-old would also appear in several matches for the U-19 squad throughout the season.
Prior to joining Juventus, Duljan began her professional career in 2017 at age 14 with her hometown team, Kristianstad in Damallsvenskan, Sweden’s top division. She had a brief loan spell with Växjö during the 2021 season, before returning back to Kristianstad.
Duljan was also a part of the U-19 Sweden national team during the U-19 Women’s Euros, where the squad reached the semifinals before being knocked out by eventual Euro winner, Spain. She played in three matches and recorded one assist during the tournament.
