1. Orange you glad the Orlando Pride are back? The Pride start off the 2024 NWSL season with an impressive 2-2 draw on the road against Racing Louisville.
2. While the Pride started the game on the front foot, Louisville had a two-goal lead after only 19 minutes of play. Pride players were caught off guard playing too far forward, leaving plenty of attacking space in behind for the home team to create chances early on, and Louisville capitalized on those opportunities.
3. From the opening whistle, Adriana was a menace up top and down the wings. She played all 90 minutes, and when she had the ball at her feet, she caused the most problems for Louisville's defense. It's going to be a fun season if the Brazilian continues to play like she did in Kentucky on Saturday.
4. Kerry Abello unfortunately won't be credited with the first goal of the Pride's 2024 season, but it was all her doing at the end of the day. Slick turns and cuts inside the box opened up space for her to fire the ball towards the six-yard box (and possibly on goal), and a deflection helped see it over the line.
5. Kylie Strom was shown a yellow card in 15th minute and another controversial one in the 62nd minute. Despite the setback, the Pride never gave up and continued to push for opportunities in the attack. That drive and spirit will help this team earn vital points throughout the year.
6. Summer Yates was put in a tough position to make a difference after entering the match in the 72nd minute, with the Pride playing down player, but she proved to the difference-maker late, making a great run into the box before flicking the ball up and around the Louisville goalkeeper. It's her first NWSL goal, and it'll be one she remembers for a long time.
7. The Pride saw the debuts of Angelina, Luana, Morgan Gautrat and Ally Lemos, all players signed this offseason. Angelina, Luana and Gautrat started the match, while Lemos came in towards the end of the second half.
8. The Pride debuted The Citrus Kit on Saturday and start the season undefeated in the new look. Pride fans will be hoping for many more points in orange as the season stretches on.
9. With a point in hand, Orlando happily heads home to prepare for its Home Opener, presented by Orlando Health, against Angel City FC at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, March 22, from INTER&Co Stadium.
