1. For the third straight time this season, the Orlando Pride finished level with their opposition as they drew the Chicago Red Stars 1-1 at INTER&Co Stadium on Friday.
2. Orlando have now secured three points on the season and remain unbeaten to start the 2024 campaign, a marked improvement from last year's start, when they didn't earn their first points until the fifth game of the year.
3. The Pride's first goal, an own goal on Chicago which opened the scoring, was their third goal from a set piece this season, a feat they have never done in team history. The entire league has just 10 set-piece goals, including the ones scored by Orlando.
4. The first 45 minutes for the Pride showed what this team can be capable of in the midfield, with the trio of Angelina, Luana and Marta breaking down the defense of the Red Stars. If they can keep that through a full 90 minutes, the rest of the league will need to watch out.
5. After first-half dominance, Orlando's second half felt less so, with the team not as sharp in passing as they were in the first half. Credit goes to Chicago for pressing higher and clogging some of the passing lanes that the Pride found early on in the game.
6. The Pride are putting the ball in dangerous areas, which has not produced an extraordinary goal just yet but have caused havoc in the box for the defenses. Head coach Seb Hines has talked through the season about the importance of set pieces and the willingness of players to put themselves on the line to make plays, which is evident through the first three games.
7. The Pride will have to wait until September for the away leg, which will take place in Bridgeview, Illinois. The game will take place on Sept. 8 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
8. After tonight's game, the Pride get a weekend off before looking ahead to their road trip against Utah Royals FC. That match will kick off at 9:30 p.m. ET from America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
