Eastern Conference Table Tightens Up

Following this weekend’s matches, just six points separate second from seventh place in the East. Orlando City climbed into the playoff picture, leapfrogging several teams in route to fourth place. D.C. United has a firm hold on first place with a seven point lead on second place New England.

USMNT Completes Incredible Comeback to Beat Holland

Down 3-1 in the second half, the United States looked down and out in Amsterdam Arena, but Jürgen Klinsmann’s bunch kept on fighting. Willed on by an unbelievable six-save performance by goalkeeper Brad Guzan, the U.S. scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to silence the home crowd of 46,000 and earn its first ever victory against the Netherlands. MLS star Gyasi Zardes scored his first career international goal, as did Danny Williams and Bobby Wood. The USMNT takes on Germany in Cologne on June 10th at 2:45pm EST.

Kaká Featured on ESPN FC

In an interview with the Worldwide Leader, captain Kaká talks about his early MLS experiences. He admits that even a former FIFA World Player of the Year has a learning curve when it comes to playing in MLS. As Kaká and his club learn the ropes of MLS, they’re beginning to climb those ropes up the Eastern Conference table.

McNamara’s Golaso Helps NYCFC Pick Up Three Points vs. Philadelphia




NYCFC picked up their first win in their last 11 tries with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union. Thomas McNamara scored from distance to tie the match at one in the 53rd minute before Patrick Mullins’ goal secured two more points for NYC. It was McNamara’s first goal in over a year.






USWNT Begin Quest for Third World Cup Title




In their first game of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the United States defeated Australia 3-1 on the strength of two goals from Megan Rapinoe. The States are the favorites in the “Group of Death”, also featuring Nigeria and Sweden who drew earlier in the day.
