Englewood Neighboring Center scored $1,500 in soccer equipment through the ‘Every Save Makes A Difference Program,’ during last Friday’s home match against D.C. United at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
Today, Orlando City Foundation President and Director of Community Relations Kay Rawlins and City of Orlando’s District 2 Commissioner Tony Ortiz delivered the equipment to Englewood Neighborhood Center, which provides after-school sports and fitness programs to a predominantly Hispanic community of more than 25,000 residents. The equipment was supplied and delivered by United World Soccer, a longtime partner of the team.
Through ‘Every Save Makes A Difference Program,’ MLS WORKS, Allstate and Univision Deportes award organizations in Hispanic-facing communities with soccer equipment during every UniMás or Univision Deportes Network broadcast of a Major League Soccer (MLS) match. Dollar amount is determined by team’s number of saves.
“This is a great program that certainly ties to our organization’s goal to better the lives of children in the community through health and fitness education,” said Rawlins. “We are grateful for the opportunity to give a little extra to Englewood Neighboring Center and thank MLS WORKS, Univision and Allstate for their support.”
