Orlando Pride’s Marta Viera Da Silva and Sky Blue FC’s Sarah Killion have been integral parts of their respective teams’ successes in 2017. These two, along with Seattle superstar Megan Rapinoe, lead the NWSL Golden Boot race with five goals.
Killion scored a flurry of goals early on this season - netting five goals in Sky Blue FC’s first six matches. The midfielder has failed to find the back of the net for five consecutive matches.
On the other hand, Marta’s goal scoring has been more evenly distributed over the course of this season. The Brazilian attacker has been consistently producing in front of goal for Orlando in 2017.

The Pride racked up a total of 19 points in last year’s underwhelming NWSL season. Orlando has rebounded in 2017; proving that they can be one of the top clubs in the NWSL.
Tom Sermanni’s side is vastly improved from last year and the Pride have a great opportunity to position themselves favorably in the NWSL standings with a win over Sky Blue FC on Wednesday.
