1. A win on the final day of the 2026 MLS regular seasoon! Orlando City SC secured one more home match after a 1-0 home win over the New England Revolution.

2. With the win and other results around the league, the Lions will now host FC Cincinnati on Thursday, Nov. 19, with the time to be decided.

3. The Lions started the match in 9th, which would have put them in an away match at the Columbus Crew, but that position fluctuated many times over the next 90 minutes.

4. Through the first 44 mintues, Orlando weathered a number of counterattacks by the Revolution and managed to hold firm defensively, especially with a bit of a makeshift backline. Wilder Cartagena put in a first-half shift as center-back, filling in for the suspended Iago.

5. It took all the way until the 45th minute, but the Lions finally broke through thanks to an unlikely source. The midfielder, who hadn't scored since July and had just come back from a Jones fracture, stepped into a loose ball that came from a cleared corner and smashed the volley into the back of the net.

6. It was a goal reminiscent of another Decision Day goal from way back in 2021, when another number 8 for the Lions, Sebas Méndez, scored a banger up in Montréal, Canada.

7. The second half came with a number of subs, including Adrián Marín at center-back, coming in for Wilder Cartagena. The fullback filled in well in that defensive line, holding the Revs to only two total shots on target. The other subs, including Joran Gerbet, Daryl Dike and a welcome return for Griffin Dorsey, all worked as a unit to help see out the game and secure all three points.

8. After clinching the shutout, goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau set a couple of personal highlights in MLS play. With the shutout, the Canadian clinched his fifth shutout of the season, the third-most he's had in his nine-year career in the league. The shotstopper also secured the most saves he's had in a season with 137.

9. Finally, it was a fitting sendoff for the Lions captain, Robin Jansson, who announced his retirement earlier this week. A home shutout and three points was a perfect way to honor the defender, along with a postgame ceremony that let the centerback address the crowd and thank them for eight years in purple.

10. The Lions will now have just under two weeks to prepare for their one-game wild card playoff game vs FC Cincinnati on November 19th. That game will be broadcast on Apple TV.
