Last night, the U.S Women’s National Team faced off against Romania in a friendly match in front of 16,425 fans in San Jose, California. The team cruised to an easy 8-1 victory, with Ashlyn Harris between the posts and Alex Morgan coming on as a second-half sub.
Christen Press of the Chicago Red Stars was the team’s top goal-scorer last night, earning a hat trick and an assist in the first half. Morgan found her goal’s in the 52nd and 75th minutes, with Morgan Brian tacking on a header in 25th minute and an own goal by Romania in stoppage time.
The U.S Women’s National Team will play another friendly against Romania on Sunday, November 13th at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Keep an eye out for Kristen Edmonds, who is still looking to make her first national team appearance. She earned her first U.S National Team call-up for these two friendlies.
