ORLANDO – November 11, 2014 – The Orlando City Foundation’s (OCF) final event of the year – PlayBingo presented by Winnie Palmer Hospital – raised over $39,000 on Saturday afternoon, enhancing its ability to continue supporting charities and organizations that improve the lives of children in Central Florida.
Combined with its previous three events this year: Soccer and the City, the Orlando City SC Celebrity Golf Tournament and the Orlando City SC Awards Gala, the Foundation raised over $177,000 through its events in 2014.
“We’re very pleased with the success of all four of our events this year, as it allows us to remain committed to the local community,” said Orlando City SC Founder and Director of Community Relations Kay Rawlins. “We had a fantastic turnout in our first year hosting PlayBingo, and we hope to build on our 2014 accomplishments in our first Major League Soccer season next year.”
The Celebrity Golf Tournament, Soccer and the City and the Awards Gala doubled the amount produced in 2013. PlayBingo, the Foundation’s brand new ladies event, was also highly successful – featuring over 240 guests competing in Bingo during a unique luncheon.
Hosted by Fox 35 anchor Amy Kaufeldt and WESH 2 meteorologist Amy Sweezey, PlayBingo offered incredible prizes from Tiffany and Co., along with creative attire and themes – including Pajama Party, Hippies, Audrey Hepburn and Masquerade.
