ORLANDO, Fla. – December 1, 2015 – The Orlando City Foundation will host its Shop for a Cause event on Park Avenue on Thursday, Dec. 3, partnering with eight local businesses to raise funds for the Club's philanthropic and community relations arm. Attendees will have an opportunity to win premium prizes, as they will receive a glass of champagne and a 'Bingo' card from Luma (290 South Park Avenue, Winter Park, Fla.).
Shoppers handing in a card stamped by all eight stores will be entered into a prize draw – with the winner receiving a special Orlando Pride package that includes two season tickets for the team's inaugural National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) campaign. The eight participating stores – Impeccable Pig, Alex & Ani, The Grove, Lilly Pulitzer, J McLaughlin, Forema Boutique, Bay Hill Jewelers and Scout and Molly's – will also donate a portion of merchandise sold that evening.
In addition, the Foundation's annual Christmas Toy Drive is currently underway, providing holiday presents for children aged 0-16. Fans can support the charitable drive – designed to benefit numerous local organizations – by donating unwrapped toys and gift cards for children to the Orlando City headquarters (618 E. South Street, Orlando, Fla.), the Orlando City Youth Soccer training ground (1900 Seminole Soccer Loop, Sanford, Fla.) and all FAIRWINDS locations.
"With the holidays quickly approaching, we're extremely excited to kick off our Shop for a Cause event and resume our annual Toy Drive," said Orlando City Foundation President Kay Rawlins. "Shop for a Cause not only allows us to promote several fantastic local businesses, but it also provides the opportunity to raise funds for our Foundation so that we can continue to remain active in the community. The Toy Drive has been a massive success in previous years – placing smiles on children all across Central Florida – and we look forward to building on that this year."
